Dr. Gaurav Kharya is a renowned physician with expertise in immunology, cancer, and pediatric hematology. He brings a wealth of experience treating difficult pediatric blood diseases, malignancies, and bone marrow transplants to his roles as Senior Consultant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi and Clinical Lead at the Centre for Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) & Cellular Therapy (CT).
Dr. Kharya, who had training in India and abroad, is known for doing the most sickle cell disease transplants in the nation. Among his contributions to medical research are the creation of novel transplant protocols and the advancement of state-of-the-art treatments like gene editing/gene therapy for inborn defects and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy.
